How JetlineChat handles data

A plain description of what this system stores. Jetline’s formal privacy policy governs; this page describes the software.

What is stored

Messages exchanged between Jetline staff and customers, including photos, documents and voice notes; the phone number each conversation is with; which staff member the conversation belongs to; and delivery state. Customer details shown alongside a conversation are read from Jetline’s existing business system - this product mirrors them, it does not originate them.

Where it is stored

In South Africa. Realtime delivery runs on infrastructure Jetline hosts. No message content is sent to any third-party analysis service - no sentiment scoring, no transcription service, no external AI processing.

How long it is kept

Customer data is purged after 36 months of inactivity. That period is fixed in the software rather than being an adjustable setting, so it cannot be changed after the fact without a reviewed code change.

Your rights under POPIA

A customer may ask to see everything held about them, or to have it deleted. Jetline answers within 30 days. Both are handled directly in this system, and the fact that a request was answered is recorded permanently - that record survives the data it refers to, because it is the proof the request was honoured.

Who can see a conversation

Staff see the conversations on the numbers they are assigned to. Managers and admins can see across a team for oversight. Every reassignment, every takeover, and every export or erasure is recorded against the person who did it.
